Transporter UK Surfing

Surfing and VW Transporters

Surfing and campervanning go hand in hand, as the freedom and flexibility of a campervan allows you to follow the waves and surf at the best breaks around. Here are a few benefits of surfing with a campervan:

  1. Convenience: With a campervan, you can sleep, eat, and store all of your gear in one place. This means you don’t have to worry about finding accommodations or lugging your surfboard and gear back and forth from a hotel.
  2. Cost-effective: Camping in a campervan is often cheaper than staying in a hotel, especially if you’re traveling for an extended period of time. This can help you save money and stretch your budget further on your surf trip.
  3. Flexibility: A campervan allows you to be spontaneous and change your plans on the fly. If you hear about a great surf break, you can pack up and hit the road without having to worry about canceling hotel reservations or finding new accommodations.
  4. Adventure: Surfing and campervanning go hand in hand with adventure and exploring new places. With a campervan, you can travel to different surf spots and discover new areas along the way.

Overall, surfing with a campervan can be a fun, convenient, and cost-effective way to experience the best waves and explore new places.

If you are a first time surfer a great way to access the sea would be with bellyboard its easy to fit in the van and something you can pick up and enjoy quickly without too much equipment, we have been having a blast on some KROC bellyboards they go so fast and look pretty cool too.

My Mobile Office With a View

Probably best to explain a bit about myself and why I can use the camper van as a mobile office. I am a self employed web developer and nearly all of my work just requires my laptop, internet connection and phone signal.

Green Woodworking course Purbeck

So a chance arose to attend a Green Woodworking Course in Purbeck. So I invited my Dad along and patiently awaited the date to roll around. Due to the long drive down from Scotland I drove down 2 days earlier and stopped in a Britstop on the first night near Gloucester then in the morning jumped back onto the M5 and stopped at the new Gloucester services for a shower and freshen up before heading down to Exeter to pick my Dad up for the train station.

A weeks visit to Islay

With my Mum and Dad coming to visit we decided to take a week’s holiday on Islay. Unsure of exact plans and weather we left things pretty late before booking, this meant that the Ferries were all booked and we just had to go for what was available so bear this in mind if you are planning a trip and book early.

Some Extra Storage

So we always need extra storage and in this cold weather I have hardly been using the Fiamma Bike Rack for bikes. Obviously Snowboarding comes with this weather so having all the kit in the van when sleeping is also a bit of a nightmare so I picked up a Storage Box.

Getting an Awning

So with a few trips in the planning, wanting a bit more space and to be able to have somewhere to store everything from the van once you are set up the search began for an Awning.

My criteria was firstly price and a budget of around £150 secondly I wanted it to either have a bedroom or be big enough to fit a tent inner to allow for trips with a few more people.

Visiting Cornwall

I’ve lived in Cornwall most of my life and even when I’m not in Cornwall I can still check out the webcams, surf reports and read the local news which feels like I am still there. Being a local tho I have made my way to visit most of the beaches that Cornwall has to offer but there are so many more beaches that I have either heard about or know roughly where they are.
